Kerala Government Doctors call for Indefinite Strike from February 2 over pending demands

The Kerala Government Medical College Teachers’ Association (KGMCTA), which had earlier deferred its indefinite strike after assurances from the Health and Finance Ministers, has expressed deep disappointment over the government’s failure to keep its promises. In response, the association has announced an indefinite strike from February 2 by boycotting OPD services.

The strike will be carried out in a phased manner. From January 22, doctors will indefinitely boycott teaching activities in all government medical colleges. On the same day, dharnas (sit-in protests) will be held at government medical colleges and in front of the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) office in Thiruvananthapuram.
