
Beed: A car carrying a doctor couple suddenly caught fire on Sunday morning in Maharashtra’s Beed district; fortunately, no casualties were reported, police said.
The incident took place near Mahajanwadi crossroad on Manjarsumba-Patoda road in Beed tehsil at around 6.15 am when the couple was heading towards their farmland, news agency PTI reported.

The doctor couple noticed smoke emanating from their car and, sensing danger, immediately stopped the vehicle and stepped out. Within moments, the car caught fire, the police said.
No injuries were reported, they said, adding the vehicle was extensively damaged. The incident caused a brief commotion in the area.
The police said preliminary reports suggested the blaze may have been caused by a short circuit in the vehicle’s wiring.
Some locals and the Mahajanwadi sarpanch assisted in extinguishing the fire.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that in a shocking incident, a senior physician was critically injured late at night after being struck by a speeding motorcycle in Uttarakhand’s Haldwani district. The accident reportedly occurred on Thandi Road.
According to the news reports, CCTV footage of the accident has surfaced on social media platforms, showing a biker speeding down the road and hitting the doctor with force before fleeing the scene without offering assistance.
